22 Destinations Receive DMAP Designation at Destination International’s Annual Convention

Washington, D.C. (July 18, 2017) – Destinations International announced that 22 destination marketing organizations received a Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP) seal
in recognition of their destination organization’s commitment to industry excellence and meeting the industry standard for performance and accountability of destination marketing organizations around the world.

The accreditation program requires a destination organization to successfully comply with a multitude of mandatory and voluntary standards that span a variety of performance areas to gain this momentous achievement. The standards cover nearly all aspects related to the management and marketing of destination organizations including governance, finance, human resources, sales, communications, destination development and research.

The following accreditations and re-accreditations were announced at Destinations International’s Annual Convention:

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Destination Hilliard recently received recognition for achievement in marketing and advertising at the Ohio Travel Association’s RUBY Awards presentation, held Oct. 16 in Springfield, Ohio. Destination Hilliard received a Citation for Excellence for promotional video Hungry! It’s All Here…in Hilliard designed to promote culinary tourism and all the local restaurants in the community. Accepting the award was Christy Clark, Executive Director for Destination Hilliard.

The Ohio Travel Association’s RUBY Awards recognize excellence in Ohio’s travel and tourism industry for efforts in advertising, marketing and public relations. In this year’s competition, the Recognizing Uncommon Brilliance (RUBY) Awards over 160 entries in 16 categories. The awards,

sponsored by Ripple Effect Interactive, were presented during the Ohio Conference on Tourism, the state’s largest conference for tourism industry professionals.

Residents and visitors who are looking for something to do during spring break or inclement weather might want to try the Destination Hilliard Scavenger Hunt which can be completed in the comfort and warmth of your own home. Scavenger Hunt questions are located on the home page of www.destinationhilliard.com. There are 12 questions and 2 bonus questions. All answers are located on the newly redesigned Destination Hilliard website. The Grand Prize is a Chick-fil-A basket with gift certificates for food and other items. Second Place Prize is $20 gift certificate to The Little Ice Cream Shoppe. Third Place Prize is $10 gift card to New Grounds Coffee Shop. Fourth Place Prize is a Hilliard Souvenir Package of Notecards, umbrella, etc. The Scavenger Hunt runs from Saturday, March 21st to Sunday, April 5th.

One of the goals of Destination Hilliard is to promote Hilliard to visitors, residents and companies. The Destination Hilliard website has been completely redesigned to effectively communicate with visitors, residents, event planners, individuals planning sporting tournaments and businesses.

“Our goal is for individuals to log on to the Destination Hilliard website which will serve as a hub for information on Hilliard and drive traffic to other websites through links” stated Christy Clark, Executive Director for Destination Hilliard.

The number one reason to log onto the Destination Hilliard website on a regular basis will be to find information on upcoming events tesla model3 including sporting events. Through a collaborative effort by organizations, a calendar for 2015 has been developed and posted on the website. Information will be updated as provided. Also, individuals can sign up to receive a monthly E-Newsletter about the upcoming month’s events.

Other highlights of the website include a complete listing of restaurants by category, attractions, clubs and organizations, group tours and volunteer opportunities. Individuals planning events, weddings, reunions or sports tournaments including 5ks will have access to helpful information to plan a successful outing including facilities, caterers, event process and other vendors.

The mission of Destination Hilliard is to cultivate a positive economic impact for Hilliard through business, leisure and sports experiences as a destination marketing organization while supporting Ohio tourism industry.
