Destination Hilliard has named its new Executive Director, Tim Kauffman. In his new role, Kauffman will oversee all aspects of the promotion of the community’s special events, visitor attractions, historic sites, cultural offerings, and recreational activities.
Kauffman joins Destination Hilliard after serving as the Regional Marketing and Communications Director for March of Dimes where he developed and implemented awareness strategies to increase mission awareness and fundraising success. Tim has also led the marketing and communications efforts at the Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC) and was instrumental in development of the “Ohio…the heart of it all” tourism campaign for the State of Ohio. Kauffman replaces Christy Clark who was Destination Hilliard’s first and only Executive Director.
“Hilliard has so much potential and I am excited for the opportunity to play a part in moving this community forward as a visitor destination,” said Kauffman. “As the new Executive Director, I am eager to continue the momentum established by Christy Clark and look for strategic opportunities to highlight our strengths and visitor attractiveness in a meaningful way.”
The Destination Hilliard Board of Trustees did an extensive search for Clark’s replacement before selecting Kauffman. His extensive marketing and communications experience and expertise along with his background in tourism promotion made him an attractive selection.
“Tim is a strategic marketing and communications pro with a keen appreciation for all Hilliard has to offer visitors and residents alike, said Linda Ulrey, Chair, Destination Hilliard Board of Trustees. “The Board of Trustees has very high expectations for our future and believe through Tim’s leadership, the future is extremely bright. We are thrilled to welcome him to our community.”
Kauffman is a graduate of Ohio State University where he played varsity baseball for four years and resides in Gahanna with his wife Kari and sons Evan and Jack. He assumed the position on August 13.
